How has this Holiday season been for you so far? Did you make it through everything okay? Are you ready for 2016?
I realize these could be questions that we may not want to think about or answer. Some may be ready for a New Year, because this past year was utter garbage. It is time to begin a new. For others this past year may not have been perfect, but it brought with it some pretty intense and life changing moments that you are not ready to turn the page on just yet.
Last year was good. I have every reason to believe that this next year will be great. There are number wonderful events in 2016. My tenth year of ordained ministry in the Presbyterian Church. This will be the year that we help my parents celebrate their 40th Anniversary. It will be the year that second son and fifth child will be born.
I have some goals for myself as well. I want to get back into running. I am committing myself to writing. I want to learn to play the drum kit with my daughter ( this will be an interesting challenge with a newborn in the house).
Overall, I am choosing to look the New Year with a positive attitude. That I believe will help set the tone for everything else.
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.” Colossians 3:16
