The day that immediately follows the day of worship with brothers and sisters in Christ can be and often is a challenging one. I believe the reason for this is that it is the first day that we are trying to live out what the Word taught us and that is never an easy path to walk.
This morning I felt the Lord ask me to repeat the words “Help me to forgive as you forgave me” as my morning prayer. If, as a follower of Jesus, I am to grow in my spiritual life then I must seek to live into the prayer that Jesus taught us to pray. Part of that part is to forgive.
I don’t know about you, but “forgive” is far more difficult to do than say. Ok, maybe that is not entirely true. There are times when even saying the words “I forgive” are extremely difficult. Thankfully, we have a Christ who was raised from the dead that we can call upon to change our hearts. I believe that when we earnestly pray in this way we are praying the heart of God and we will be given the strength to carry it out.
May the Lord bless you with the reality of His love for you and your neighbor!
